A man shoots his dog, Pooh Bear, a family pet for 8 years, near a small grave he dug just moments before in the families back yard. A rabid skunk bit the dog earlier in the morning. The man didn't have the money to care for the dog and had to make the difficult decision to euthanize it himself.

 Jackie Klingensmith of Leechburg is overcome with emotion after finding her brother, Dwyane, 13, is safe after his friend Joram Hollaman, 11, of Natrona Heights drowned in the Kiski River near Pine Run in Apollo, Pa.   Hollaman, who was fishing with four other friends including  Klingensmith, fell into the river and was recovered just before dusk in about 6 feet of water and pronounced dead.
       
     
 Billie Thompson wears her poodle skirt in her living room at her home in Parks Township, Pa. Thompson came of age in the 50's and reminisced about clothing styles, and the way of life back then. She always wanted a poodle skirt and never had one until she went on a cruise recently and made one for 50's night.
       
     
 Jim Sarkett, 65, of Daisytown, PA was only 10 in the summer of 1950 when polio struck him, leaving him without the use of his legs.  The polio virus isolated from his blood was used by Jonas Salk to create the vaccine.
